Ayurveda is a natural state of medicine in India more than 5000 years ago based on idea that disease is due to an imbalance in tridosha ( vata pitta and kapha ) and mansika dosha (Raja and tama )

Ayurvedic principles state that everybody has a specific body constitution, that defines a person’s physical, physiologic and mental character and the vulnerability towards illness. There are three primary doshas that everyone possesses, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, which affects everyone’s body differently. Their imbalance causes disease and discomfort in the body. Ayurveda is specialized in treating that imbalance and helps the body to regain a perfect level of balance. Ayurvedic treatment start with an internal purification special diet herbal remedies massage therapy yoga and meditation.

The authentic knowledge of ayurveda does not reach the people due to quack system ( road side tent ayurvedic shops ).

Rheumatoid arthritis

Amavata is a disease in which vitiation of Vata Dosha and accumulation of Ama take place in joint(s), and it simulates rheumatoid arthritis (RA) at modern parlance. Shamana (conservative) and Shodhana (biological purification of the body) treatments are advised in Ayurveda whereas anti-inflammatory, analgesics, steroids, and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs are required for its management as per modern medicine.

Osteo arthritis (sandhigata vata )

Eczema

Eczema is a form of dermatitis where inflammation of epidermis occurs. The exact cause of eczema is not known. Although it is activated by the immune system and is related to allergic reactions, it is not the same as other allergic reactions. In Ayurveda, the disease is described by the name “Vicharchika.”

Psoriasis

Immune response of a human body to the uncertain factors leads to the accelerated inflammatory proliferation of the ailing cells of the skin known as Psoriasis. Although the condition found described many decades ago, the etiology and treatment look under-researched. In Ayurveda, many herbs have
proven efficacy in psoriasis.

Acne vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory condition of skin in youth. In Ayurveda, acne has been elaborated as one of the Kshudra Rogas. In this modern era, this is a burning problem in the adolescence. Symptoms of Mukhadushika show close resemblance with bacterial infection and inflammatory factors of acne. In Ayurveda, it can be correlated with Mukhadushika. Vitiation of Kapha Dosha, Vata Dosha and Rakta Dhatu lead to development of Mukhadushika.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a progressive, idiopathic, pigmentation disorder of the skin, characterized by hypopigmented white lesions. PUVA therapy is the treatment of choice in the modern system of medicine. In Ayurveda, Shvitra or Kilasa is the term employed to describe hypopigmentation disorders of the skin. Shvitra is caused by various dietic and behavioral factors which aggravate the tridoshas, especially the Kapha dosha vitiating the Meda dhatu

In Ayurveda,non alcohlic fatty liver disease is assigned as Yakrit Roga and Medoroga Many conditions come under Yakrit Roga, varying from simple steatosis to hepatomegaly to liver cirrhosis. The ancient text of Yogratnakara described that Vidahi (and Abhisyandi Ahara lead to Rakta-Kapha Dushti giving rise to Yakritodara (enlargement of the liver). Ibs Grahani roga explained in Ayurveda has similar presentations as IBS. Grahani roga is the disease caused due to derangements in dosha (body constituent) and various systems (Srotas). Systems involved are annavaha (gastro intestinal), purishavaha (excretory), manoavaha (psychological), vatavaha
(neurological), ahara (dietary), vihara (behavioral), agni (major metabolic factor), and kostha (gut health). These components plays a complex, interconnecting, reciprocal role and this warrants a systems approach. Manifestations include derangements in bowel like constipation or loose stools, change in frequency, associated with pain or burning, foul smelling etc. Other symptoms include bloating, loss of appetite, debility etc.
